You Were Born with Wings

This week in class we are learning about Satya or Truthfulness. We hear a lot about "finding your truth" in our culture these days, but what does that mean? How do we "find" truth when, in reality, the truth is always in front of us. Finding your truth is about listening better to what you already know to be true. Your innate wisdom is there. The answers are inside you. There's no finding to be done; all you have to do is listen. Yoga and meditation give us the space and silence to listen and to hear what is already there.

You were born with potential. You were born with goodness and trust. You were born with ideals and dreams. You were born with greatness. You were born with wings. You are not meant for crawling, so don't. You have wings. Learn to use them and fly.

Rumi

“We waste so much energy trying to cover up who we are when beneath every attitude is the want to be loved, and beneath every anger is a wound to be healed and beneath every sadness is the fear that there will not be enough time. Our challenge each day is not to get dressed to face the world but to unglove ourselves so that the doorknob feels cold and the car handle feels wet and the kiss goodbye feels like the lips of another being, soft and unrepeatable.”
